With an international team of researchers we help to increase knowledge of foreign business structures and cultures worldwide.

At the Research Institute for International Management we aim to advance the understanding of foreign business structures and cultures, and of global business developments. We seek to promote effective ways of dealing with these challenges by providing sound and relevant education, and by conducting rigorous empirical research aimed at the leading international academic and practitioner communities.

Diversity is important at our Institute. We look for complementarities in backgrounds, viewpoints and capabilities. Thus our team includes experienced senior faculty as well as young doctoral students. Many colleagues have a distinct academic interest yet some colleagues rather have a stronger practice orientation. Most importantly, we never have one dominant nationality.

The team is led by Professor Winfried Ruigrok (NL) who is the director of the Institute. Winfried is at the same time the Dean of the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law (ES-HSG) at the University of St.Gallen.
